QA Center of Practice (CoP)
Senior QA Automation Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Frameworks:Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of automated testing frameworks (UI, API, mobile, performance) from scratch or by enhancing existing ones.
- Strategy:Collaborate with QA Leads, Engineering Managers, and Product Owners to define and execute automation roadmaps aligned with CoP objectives.
- Leadership:Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise to QA Automation Engineers, fostering skill growth and best practice adoption.
- Tools & Methods:Research, evaluate, and recommend automation tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve efficiency.
- Test Development:Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for complex features with comprehensive coverage.
- CI/CD:Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for faster feedback and accelerated delivery.
- Reporting:Develop clear reporting on test results, providing actionable quality insights.
- Standards:Promote coding standards, design patterns, and maintain documentation for automation guidelines.
- Troubleshooting:Debug automation failures, identify root causes, and implement sustainable fixes.
- Collaboration:Work closely with developers, PMs, and QA peers to align on quality requirements.
- Knowledge Sharing:Contribute to CoP knowledge sessions and training initiatives.

Qualifications
- 5+ years in QA with strong focus on automation.
- Knowledge of software testing theory.
- Proven ability to build and maintain automation frameworks using Java, Kotlin, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Expertise with frameworks/tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Rest Assured, JMeter, Gatling.
- Strong understanding of API testing (Postman, Rest Assured).
- Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- Familiarity with cloud testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack).
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and mentoring abilities.
- Comfortable working independently and in agile teams.
Knowledge of software testing theory.
