Position Overview: As a QA Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in one of our most strategic initiatives: migrating our legacy systems to modern, cloud-native architectures. You will lead the quality strategy to ensure business continuity and data integrity during this transition. Your expertise will be vital as you architect automation frameworks that bridge the gap between old and new systems, ensuring that every phase of the migration meets our rigorous standards for performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migration Strategy: Lead the design and execution of QA strategies specifically tailored for legacy system migration, ensuring zero data loss and feature parity.
- Automation Leadership: Architect and oversee the implementation of end-to-end automation frameworks to accelerate testing cycles and minimize manual regression.
- Collaboration: Partner with System Architects, Developers, and stakeholders to identify risks associated with legacy dependencies and modern integration points.
- Process Optimization: Participate in the implementation of testing best practices, focusing on the testing pyramid to ensure a stable transition from monolithic to microservices architectures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Legacy Migration Experience: Proven track record in leading QA efforts for complex system migrations, including data migration and environment cutovers.
- Automation Mastery: Extensive experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress) and building frameworks from scratch.
- API & Data Validation: Strong expertise in validating REST APIs and conducting deep-dive database testing to ensure data consistency during migration.
- Strategic Thinking: Experience in conducting root cause analyses and risk assessments for legacy-dependent software.
- Workflow Tools: Expert-level familiarity with JIRA and project management tools to track migration progress and defect lifecycles.
- Language Proficiency: Advanced English proficiency (fluent in both verbal and written communication).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP as it relates to migrating on-premise legacy systems to the cloud.
- Performance Testing: Experience with JMeter or Locust to ensure the new system handles load better than the legacy counterpart.
- SQL Proficiency: Advanced SQL skills for complex query creation and database result analysis.
- Agile Leadership: Experience leading QA in an Agile/Scrum environment during high-stakes digital transformations.
- CI/CD Integration: Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes for automated migration deployments.
