Quality Assurance Lead
Cypress manual/automation
Responsibilities:
- Work in a fast-paced, Agile/Scrum engineering environment and deliver incremental product software with high quality.
- Lead thedesign and execution of QA strategyacross manual and automated testing for multiple product teams.
- Develop and maintainautomated API test suites and Cypress-based automation suitesand coach other team members on automation best practices.
- Conduct and leadmanual test planning and execution, especially in high-risk and exploratory testing scenarios.
- Create, review, and maintaintest artifacts—test plans, test cases, acceptance criteria, automation scripts, and documentation.Partner with Product, DevOps, and Development teams toensure shift-left testing, continuous integration, and quality gate automation.
- Overseeregression, E2E, performance, and integration testingfor web-based and API-driven applications.
- Define and report QA metrics (test coverage, defect escape rates, cycle times).
- Mentor junior QA team members across the IC1–IC3 levels in both manual and automation disciplines.
- Proactively assess QA tools, processes, and industry trends to recommend improvements.
- Contribute as an individual contributor to QA as needed.
NOTE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years of hands-on QA experience in both manual and automation testing
- 2+ years in a QA leadership role with mentoring or people management responsibility
- Expert-level understanding ofCypress, JavaScript/TypeScript test development, and open-source test ecosystems
- Strong manual testing experience inexploratory, regression, and system integration testing
- Fluency with tools likeJIRA, GitHub Actions, Confluence
- Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Strong skills in analyzing technical requirements, debugging complex issues, and advocating for testability
- Analytical thinker
- Ability to work in self-managing atmosphere
- Independent problem solving skills
- Superior communication/presentation skills
It would be great if you have or are pursuing the following:
- Experience withperformance testing toolslike Artillery, JMeter, or k6
- Experience testingauthentication flows, SSO, or identity platforms
- AWS environment familiarity
- Previous experience inedtech, SaaS, or enterprise software
- ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, or similar certifications
We prefer that you have experience with:
- Google Suite
- MS Office Suite
- SalesForce
- JIRA and Confluence
This role is 100% remote eligible, with quarterly strategy meetings that are in-person.
