The Role:
- Are you passionate about quality, automation, and process optimization in large-scale Big Data environments? We are looking for a QA Lead to join our team and take ownership of quality strategy, automation frameworks, and process governance for our high-volume Data Warehouse.
- This role involves leading the QA team, defining and maintaining high-quality standards for ETL/ELT pipelines, REST APIs, and real-time data ingestion, and working closely with Volkswagen's BPM team and key stakeholders to ensure best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the QA team, driving best practices and continuous improvement in test automation and process governance
- Own and define testing standards across all data-related processes, from ETL/ELT workflows to API and system integrations
- Collaborate directly with Volkswagenâs BPM team and clients to establish and enforce quality policies
- Develop and maintain automated test strategies for data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-based systems
- Work with Scala, Python, and Spark to validate large-scale data transformations and integrity
- Automate data validation and quality controls in Jupyter Notebook, OpenSearch, S3, and MinIO
- Ensure smooth integration of test automation within CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, Kubernetes, Helm)
- Drive innovation in test automation tools (Cucumber, Postman, Playwright, or other modern frameworks)
- Monitor and optimize quality metrics, continuously improving our testing processes
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a QA Lead, Test Architect, or Senior QA Engineer in data-driven environments
- Strong expertise in test automation, BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow), and API testing (Postman, RestAssured)
- Knowledge of Big Data ecosystems (Spark, Kafka, OpenSearch, S3, MinIO, etc.)
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud-based infrastructures (Openshift, Kubernetes)
- Experience working with BPM methodologies and process governance
- Ability to define, maintain, and enforce QA standards while working with multiple stakeholders
- A proactive leader with a continuous improvement mindset
