Senior QA Engineer
This is a fully remote job; preferred location is Brazil.
The Role
We're hiring a Senior QA Engineer to own testing across our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This is a strategy-and-automation role, not a click-testing one: you'll own the test strategy, write the test cases, and automate them on top of established open-source testing tools — working shoulder-to-shoulder with developers to bake quality in from the start rather than catch it at the end.
This role partners closely with application and platform engineering.
What You'll Do
-
Own the test strategy end-to-end across the SDLC.
-
Build and own test coverage on top of established open-source testing tools — defining the strategy, writing the test cases, and automating them — and integrate it into our Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines so tests run on every meaningful change.
-
Write clear, maintainable test cases and test plans, and keep them current as the product evolves.
-
Plan and run the full range of testing — including but not limited to integration testing, system testing, regression testing, and stress / load / performance testing.
-
Partner with developers to define acceptance criteria, shift testing left, and make quality a shared responsibility rather than a gate at the end.
-
Triage failures, drive root-cause analysis on escaped defects, and close the loop with durable fixes.
-
Report quality signals (coverage, flake rate, escaped defects) in a way the team can act on.
What You'll Need (Required)
-
Strong test automation skills, with a track record of designing test strategy and automating it on top of established open-source testing tools.
-
Deep, practical understanding of the SDLC and where testing fits at each stage.
-
Proven experience writing test cases and test plans.
-
Hands-on experience across multiple testing types: integration, system, regression, and stress / performance.
-
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
-
Strong communication skills — you work directly with developers and can make a clear, persuasive case for quality.
-
Strong experience with Python, JS/TS
-
Familiarity with open-source testing tools (for example, Playwright or Cypress for end-to-end, pytest for unit and integration, k6 or Locust for load and stress testing).
Nice to Have
-
Exposure to testing cloud or containerized (Kubernetes) workloads.
-
Experience supporting a System and Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2) or similar compliance program by producing test evidence.
-
Background in enterprise or regulated environments where reliability is non-negotiable.
-
Experience in early-stage environments where one person owns a broad testing surface.
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
-
You've assessed current test coverage and identified the highest-leverage gaps.
-
Automated test coverage is running in the pipeline on every meaningful change.
-
The team has a clear, lightweight process for triaging failures and preventing repeat defects.
