Who are you?
You are looking to take ownership of automating testing processes, fostering collaborative efforts with our development team to establish a culture of code and functional quality and consistency in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with our product owner, you will gain a deep understanding of our objectives, allowing you to enhance test automation to ensure continuous alignment with evolving product goals throughout the iterative development process
What can you expect from this role?
Cortex is a new product to market, developed in our innovation pillar. You will be reporting to our Director of Software Engineering and will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. This involves creating detailed and structured test plans and strategies to identify potential issues before they reach production.
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into test cases that cover all functional and non-functional aspects of the application, to ensure the software behaves as expected under various conditions, identifying bugs, documenting them clearly, and working with the development team to prioritize and resolve these issues.
Beyond testing, QA professionals often analyze test results to provide actionable insights that help improve the development process and overall product quality. Additionally, your role involves determining the optimal testing approaches for new features and executing automated tests accordingly.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies and plans, including functional, system, stress, scaling and performance testing
- Triage and debug automated test failures and report product defects
- Documenting and reporting product defects in a clear manner
- Monitor and analyze automated test results, identifying potential patterns and trends to improve the effectiveness and reliability of testing processes.
- Collaborate with developers to perform root cause analysis of defects, utilizing strong problem-solving skills to identify underlying issues and potential solutions
- Cultivating skills and knowledge to becoming a subject matter expert, harnessing the collective abilities of each team member as everyone within the team is vital to our success
- Continuously refine and optimize testing processes and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA processes you develop
- Be self-motivated with the ability to learn and apply concepts quickly
- Lead efforts to identify areas for process optimization, efficiency enhancement and innovation within the QA function.
Qualifications:
- B.S degree or higher in Engineering or a similar field
- At least five years of experience in a technical QA role within the software development industry
- Ability to own features, write a complete test plan and deliver on all QA responsibilities
- Knowledge of software quality, testing, and reporting methodologies
- Comfortable with Docker
- Strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving and effective debugging skills
- Positive and proactive attitude towards driving positive changes in the work environment
- Experience with Javascript, Typescript and React.
- Experience with NestJS, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform.
- Communicate, drive and enforce quality best practices within the team.
