Robots & Pencils is seeking a Data QA / Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team building a modern, unified digital experience platform for a large multi-venue hospitality and entertainment organization.
In this role, you will ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency of data across multiple systems, pipelines, and applications. You will validate data flows between backend services, middleware, APIs, and front-end applications, enabling personalized guest experiences, real-time itinerary orchestration, and seamless cross-property services .
This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, hands-on experience in data validation, testing, and quality assurance , and a product-oriented mindset focused on high-quality, reliable data delivery .
KeyResponsibilities
DataQuality&Validation

Develop and executedata validation strategies, test plans, and QA processesfor structured and unstructured data.

Ensure integrity, accuracy, and completeness of data acrossweb, mobile, and kiosk applications.

Validate data flows betweenCustomer Data Platforms (CDPs), headless CMS (Contentful), middleware/API layers (MuleSoft), and analytics systems.

Identify, document, and track data discrepancies or anomalies to resolution.
Automated&ManualTesting

Build and maintainautomated data validation scriptsand ETL testing pipelines.

Performmanual validation and exploratory testingfor critical data transformations and integrations.

Support regression testing of data pipelines and services to ensure consistency after changes or deployments.
Collaboration&ProcessImprovement

Partner withdata engineers, platform engineers, backend/frontend engineers, and product teamsto define data validation requirements.

Contribute todata quality standards, metrics, and reportingto stakeholders.

Advocate fordata integrity, governance, and observabilityacross all platform layers.

Implement monitoring, alerting, and dashboards for data health and pipeline reliability.

RequiredSkills&Qualifications

4+ years of experience indata engineering, data QA, or data validationroles.

Strong SQL and/or scripting skills (Python, JavaScript, or similar) fordata extraction, transformation, and testing.

Experience validatingETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and cloud-native data services.

Familiarity withmiddleware platforms (MuleSoft), headless CMS (Contentful), and modern cloud hosting (e.g., Vercel).

Knowledge of data modeling, relational and NoSQL databases, and data governance best practices.
