Manager, QA

VALORANT is Riot’s take on a character-based tactical shooter.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage QA professionals working across multiple teams focused on Competitive features
  • Hold teams accountable for upholding quality and player impact as an essential factor in decision-making
  • Partner with other craft leaders to influence craft and product decisions through quality insights and risk analysis
  • Identify, recruit, interview, and hire QA professionals to help teams scale effectively with Competitive feature specialization
  • Guide testing strategies throughout the software development life cycle
  • Reporting on metrics using data to guide action
  • Identify risks, impact, probability, and plan mitigation

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years Quality Assurance Experience with at least 2 of those leading QA teams
  • 1+ year managing QA professionals
  • Have experience managing QA activity in Competitive Client Features and Backend Services
  • Leading teams within game development
  • Experience with product development pipelines and workflows
  • Experience with strategic goal setting, tactical execution
  • Experience working with remote testing teams

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience managing QA people and process in an embedded environment
  • Experience with test automation and tooling for backend systems and services in game development
  • Experience using test tools such as Swagger, SQL, Postman, and SoapUI
  • Experience with Perforce and Git
  • Preferred Licenses/certifications:
  • I/ASTQB Foundation Level
  • I/ASTQB Agile Tester or ICAgile Agile Testing (ICP-TST)
  • I/ASTQB Advanced Test Manager
