The Salesforce QA/Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and functionality of Salesforce applications through meticulous testing processes. This role involves designing and executing comprehensive test plans, identifying and resolving application defects, and utilizing automated testing tools to optimize testing efficiency. The Salesforce QA/Tester collaborates with developers, administrators, and business stakeholders to ensure Salesforce solutions meet organizational requirements and deliver a seamless user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Test Planning and Design
- Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for Salesforce applications and features.
- Create detailed and reusable test scripts to ensure consistent and thorough testing of new and existing functionality.
- Define testing strategies for manual and automated testing, aligning with organizational goals and project timelines.
2. Test Execution and Defect Management
- Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing to validate Salesforce applications.
- Identify, document, and track defects in a defect tracking system, working closely with developers to resolve issues.
- Validate defect fixes through re-testing and confirm successful resolution.
- Conduct end-to-end testing to ensure seamless integration with other systems and platforms.
3. Automation Testing
- Utilize Salesforce-specific testing tools, such asProvar,Selenium, or other automated testing frameworks, to execute automated test cases.
- Develop, maintain, and update automated test scripts to increase testing efficiency and coverage.
- Collaborate with the development team to implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) testing pipelines.
4. Performance and Load Testing
- Conduct performance and load testing to ensure Salesforce applications perform optimally under varying workloads.
- Analyze performance testing results and provide actionable recommendations to improve system performance.
5. Reporting and Documentation
- Generate detailed test reports summarizing test execution results, defects, and quality metrics for stakeholders.
- Document test plans, test scripts, and defect logs in accordance with organizational standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records of testing activities to ensure traceability and compliance with quality standards.
6. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide feedback on test results.
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-up meetings to align testing activities with Agile development processes.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on best practices for Salesforce testing.
7. Continuous Improvement and Compliance
- Stay updated on Salesforce updates, testing tools, and quality assurance best practices to improve testing processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with organizational policies and industry standards.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelorās degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Certified Administrator or Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder, are a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience in software testing and quality assurance, preferably with Salesforce applications.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, including custom objects, workflows, and integrations.
- Proficiency in using testing tools such asProvar,Selenium,JUnit,TestNG, or other automation frameworks.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such asJira,Bugzilla, orTestRail.
- Familiarity with Salesforce-specific testing tools, such as Apex Test Execution and Developer Console.
- Knowledge of APIs and tools for testing API-based integrations.

- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to identify, isolate, and resolve defects efficiently.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and collaborate with development teams to resolve them.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience testing Salesforce Lightning Components, Visualforce pages, and custom Apex code.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies, including participation in sprint-based development cycles.
- Experience in performance and load testing tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment/testing tools.
