n8n Automation Engineer
Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, monitor, and debug existing n8n workflows to ensure consistent, error-free operation.
- Analyze workflow performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements without disrupting production logic.
- Design, test, and deploy new n8n nodes or workflow components when required.
- Manage API integrations with external systems such as Zendesk, Twilio, ElevenLabs, Postgres, Supabase, and other REST-based services.
- Handle data transformations, conditional logic, and error-handling within workflows.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand process logic and business intent behind each automation.
- Maintain documentation for workflows, including trigger sources, dependencies, and output schemas.
- Apply version control discipline and ensure safe change management when updating live automations.
- Monitor workflow execution limits, runtime errors, and performance trends.
- Participate in periodic reviews to propose architectural improvements, modularization, or standardization of automation patterns.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and maintaining automations inn8n(or similar platforms like Zapier, Make, or Node-RED).
- Solid understanding ofAPI communication (REST, JSON, authentication methods, rate limits).
- Practical experience withdata modeling and transformation(JavaScript expressions, code nodes, object manipulation).
- Working knowledge ofPostgreSQLor other relational databases.
- Familiarity withZendesk APIand ticket lifecycle automation is a strong advantage.
- Competence introubleshooting,debugging, andsystematic documentation.
- Ability to understand and work within established logic built by others, without introducing regressions.
- Optional but valuable: experience withDocker,Supabase,webhooks, orAI tool integrations.
