Job Description
As a Development Game QA Lead at Endava Games, you will own the test plan and coordinate QA efforts to provide coverage as needed by the development and publishing teams.
- 100% Remote position.
- Working with a multinational team on AA or AAA games in an Unreal Studio.
- Get to experience working on diverse projects within the game space.
- Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager at Endava Games.
Responsibilities
Lead and support a team of Games QA Testers at Endava Games - Be the representation of Quality and Game Testing support on your product!
QA Support and Leadership: 75%
- Be the key Quality practices leader in team and product meetings.
- Gather testing requirements and pass down the day to day focus to the rest of your QA team.
- Active support and management of the QA database for your product.
- Review all issues entered by your team to ensure that the highest quality standards are met and that best practices are being used.
- Build test and support plans alongside your QA Manager to ensure your game’s quality is in the best shape possible.
- Participate in the definition and improvement of ENDAVA’s QA standards, workflows and reporting.
- Produce QA reporting on a daily, weekly, and milestone cadence.
Project Management: 15%
- Coordinate daily tasks, build delivery, downtime and report and flag any quality issues to product owners and department managers.
- Monitoring daily test results and team productivity. Review daily tasks and team flags in a regular cadence.
- Build and maintain project documentation and team spaces, based on latest product information.
- Provide client-facing/client centric breakdown of project health and own the test team’s progress.
Resource Management: 10%
- Onboard, train and mentor new and current testers on ENDAVA process and QA best practices.
- Coaching, and team performance management. Provide real time feedback during testing.
- Meet with your team 1 on 1 and help with their career development when possible.
- Participate in future hiring rounds of the QA department to help ENDAVA build a strong and well-rounded team!
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience as Games QA Lead in the games industry.
- Minimum 4+ years of testing experience in games on multiple platforms.
- Shipped at least 2 console or PC games in the acting role as QA Lead.
- Self-motivated, driven, and strong client facing skills. Well-organized and maintains high standards even under pressure
- Production pipeline tools mastery, such as Jira, Confluence, and other test case management systems.
- Strong communication skills in English in both oral and written.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in managing Remote Teams. Know what a healthy team looks like.
- Development QA experience, in-engine support for Unreal, Unity or equivalent. Building, creating, maintaining gyms and/or working with CI/CD tools.
- Having a passion for games, games development and game franchises. A strong believer in quality, quality products, and the QA process.
- Strong emotional intelligence and a “people first” approach to team management.
- Understand what KPIs are good indicators of Quality for a product in test.
- Technical skills, such as VBA/Macro document automation, Jira analytics, and/or dabbling in any programming languages are a plus!
