Title: Senior Analyst -Sr. Associate Test Engineer
WHAT YOUâLL DO:
The Senior Analyst, Test Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless upgrade of client applications to the latest product versions. This position is responsible for planning and executing test scripts, as well as signing off on upgraded applications.
The role is pivotal in evaluating custom products and collaborating closely with developers and client testing teams. The primary objective is to guarantee a smooth upgrade process with no defect leakage, thereby maintaining the integrity and performance of the applications.
- Develops and executes test plans for upgrades, ensuring all functionalities are thoroughly tested.
- Performs manual and automated testing (Test Automation Center, Regression Runner, Nightwatch test scripts) for upgrades, including integration testing and client regression testing.
- Leverages various test design techniques to improve the upgrade test scope.
- Identifies, documents, and tracks defects using bug tracking tools (ADO, JIRA, Rally). Works closely with development and client teams for defect resolution and retesting.
- Creates and maintains automated test scripts for upgrade standard packs to improve testing efficiency and coverage wherever needed.
- Learn to develop ways to interact/test using tools like Queries, xPath, SOAP, and Regression Runner.
- Demonstrates understanding of test management tools (TestRail, ADO) used within the team and follows suggested guidelines.
- Determines and meets time estimates and schedules for testing efforts, adhering to upgrade testing entry/exit criteria.
- Prepares detailed test execution reports, including test results, defect analysis (RCA/Gap Analysis), and recommendations for improvements.
- Assists developers in finding the root cause of medium to high defects by identifying common manifestations of a problem.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including developers, client/SI teams, project/test managers, and support teams, to ensure seamless upgrade processes.
- Participates and contributes to retrospective meetings.
