This position supports the U.S. Army’s Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS). This role plays a key part in verifying the functionality, performance, and reliability of mission-critical software supporting global Army ammunition logistics operations. The Test Engineer will collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and users to design and execute test strategies that ensure a stable and secure product. Duties include:

Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test plans, scripts, and procedures for SAAS functionality.

Perform functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing to validate software changes.

Collaborate with developers and analysts to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.

Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defect tracking.

Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira).

Participate in Agile sprint activities including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Review system specifications and contribute to requirement refinement from a testability perspective.

Support testing across multiple environments (development, staging, production).

Ensure compliance with Army standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and test documentation best practices.

Assist with test automation initiatives and contribute to continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering.

Experience testing complex enterprise systems, preferably in a logistics or government environment.

Familiarity with test tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Postman, JMeter, JIRA, TestRail).

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Knowledge of software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a favorable background investigation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience testing U.S. Army logistics or ammunition systems (SAAS experience highly desirable).
- Familiarity with RMF, IAVA compliance, and DoD cybersecurity practices.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), DevSecOps pipelines, or CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- ISTQB or other relevant software testing certifications.
- Exposure to data validation testing, SQL queries, or back-end database testing.
