Junior Test Engineer

About the Role

The entry-level position of Junior Test Engineer is a fast-paced role. As a member of the BetMGM Technology team, it will be your responsibility to test applications, sports wagering features, platform updates, and product integrations for various US markets. The main objective of the role will be to ensure that each product is compliant and ready for market in an efficient manner.

• Work with the Technical Managers, Product Managers, and testing teams to define, develop and implement testing practice for the company
• Perform application and platform feature testing on in-house and third-party vendor product integrations based on regulatory & technical product requirements
• Begin to collaborate closely with developers, designers and other testers in a distributed team environment to define and implement process enhancements, manual tests, and applicable automated tests
• Learn and adopt software testing best practices
• Undertake exploratory as well as structured manual testing
• Assist in technical investigations of product defects
• Document, report, and track issues encountered during the testing cycle and guide each issue through to resolution
• The most important attribute is a commitment and enthusiasm for quality and enabling a culture of consistent high-quality product delivery by developing smart systems that deliver great feedback
• Review and reproduce issues raised and documented by external test labs
• Must be able to stand or sit and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Bachelor’s degree required; technology or business preferred
• Gaming, technology, or mathematical background
• Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to details, quality and deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Working knowledge of python and javascript programming languages
• Working knowledge of all major consumer operating systems (iOS, MacOS, Android, Windows)
• Aptitude in knowing where to find the answer
• Ability to both recognize process barriers or risks and address them in a timely fashion
• Demonstrated ability to function as part of a team providing a high level of quality service
• Having an interest in sports wagering technology is a plus
• Experience with Mobile and/or Native App development & testing is a plus

The annual salary range for this position is $54,240 to $71,190.  Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.
