- Provides guidance on reviewing, evaluating and driving requirements for testability to ensure review processes are adhered to.

- Manages and leads the development and implementation of complete test strategies.
- Designs and supports the implementation of best-in-class testing strategies for complex solutions, across multiple platforms and businesses/groups.
- Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance.
- Creates discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.
- Reviews, evaluates, and derives requirements for testability.
- Designs, develops, executes, and maintains testing strategies and plans to ensure stability and efficiency, enabling a seamless customer experience.
- Executes and verifies test cases as part of the overall functional testing of Information Technology products as well as reporting defects and test results to the stakeholders.
- Recommends approaches to streamline and integrate technological processes and systems in the organization to improve overall efficiency and improve the bank.
- Ensures the accuracy and consistency of test results through documentation processes. Follows BMO’s SDLC process.
- Communicates the overall quality of a deliverable and ensures metrics are used to drive delivery and identify any areas of concern.
- Participates in programs/projects across the enterprise.
- Participates as an active stakeholder in every initiative, driving quality based on fact-based metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional, integration, and regression testing across multiple banking projects.
- Create and manage test plans, strategies, and execution schedules.
- Guide QA teams, manage workloads, and ensure timely delivery.
- Review test cases, assess coverage, and enforce QA standards.
- Drive defect triage, defect lifecycle management, and release readiness.
- Coordinate with business, development, and environment teams.
- Support process governance and ensure compliance with QA gates.
- Generate Comprehensive Reports: Create daily, weekly, and monthly status reports detailing testing progress, defect trends, and overall project health.
- Track QualityMetrics: MonitorKPIs such as defect density, defect leakage, test coverage, and open/closed defect counts.
- Provide ActionableInsights: Analyzetest results and metrics to provide recommendations to stakeholders and senior management for improving software quality.
- Utilize Tooling & Dashboards: Use tools like JIRA, ALM, or similar, to generate, visualize, and share reports of testing activities and bug statuses.
- Defect Triage &Reporting: Chairdaily defect triage calls to ensure prompt documenting, tracking, and resolution reporting using standardized metrics.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of QA experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of banking/financial services applications.
- Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
- Expertise in manual testing and regression planning.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Zephyr, and HP ALM for test case management, defect tracking, test execution, traceability, and Agile sprint reporting.
Good-to-Have
- Experience with automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, RestAssured, etc.).
- API testing knowledge (Postman, SOAP UI).
- Familiarity with CI/CD, accessibility, or performance testing.
Pay Type:
The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
