About the Role
Join our team as a QA Lead, where you will take charge of Aphex's end-to-end regression suite while collaborating closely with Product Managers, Leads and Engineers to ensure thorough test coverage that meets our acceptance criteria. This is a foundational role with substantial influence; you will establish the QA architecture, choose the right tools, and set standards as you build out your team and oversee our external QA vendor. Responsibilities

Establish a consistent testing schedule for regression testing to ensure timely and thorough evaluation of the software. Maintain this cadence to meet the quality standards set for the team.

Recruit and select qualified QA team members to establish a skilled internal team. Lead the team effectively as it grows, ensuring high standards of quality assurance are maintained.
Requirements and Skills

Hands-on experience building and maintaining E2E test suites at scale with Playwright

Demonstrable experience managing test flake — diagnosing root causes, setting and enforcing flake budgets, keeping suites trusted

Experience managing an external QA vendor from the client side (defining scope, directing work, managing transition)

Experience partnering with Product Managers on acceptance criteria and E2E test specification

Experience with CI integration, test parallelisation, environment management, and test reporting

Has owned a test suite end-to-end, not just contributed to one

Can articulate a point of view on the test pyramid and where E2E fits

Strong written communication — async / remote-first, working across timezones
